About Us

Two Chapters.
One Unified Voice.

The Home Builders Association of the Lowcountry represents the most significant unification in our region's building history — bringing together the storied Charleston chapter and the dynamic Hilton Head chapter under one powerful banner.

Together, we advocate for responsible growth, champion the highest standards of craftsmanship, and connect homebuyers with the region's most trusted builders. From the cobblestone streets of the Holy City to the sun-drenched shores of the Hilton Head region, we are the definitive voice of home building in the Lowcountry.

About the Charleston Chapter

Since 1959, the Charleston Home Builders Association (CHBA) has served as the leading non-profit organization dedicated to the future of the Lowcountry, encouraging growth and development within our four counties - Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, and Dorchester. The Charleston Chapter works with organizations, including government, to promote and protect home ownership. This Association continues to provide members with the ability to ethically and efficiently provide local communities with safe, quality, and affordable housing. CHBA members consist of residential contractors, remodelers, and developers, as well as members that represent all professions that support the homebuilding industry.

About the Hilton Head Area Chapter

Chartered in 1965 under the leadership of Joseph Fraser, Jr., the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association (HHAHBA) is a nonprofit professional trade organization dedicated to advancing the building industry across Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton Counties. The association continues to provide members with the ability to ethically and efficiently provide local communities with safe, quality and affordable housing. HHAHBA members consist of residential contractors, remodelers and developers, in addition to members representing all professions that support the homebuilding industry.
